At some stage in our life, we all live at the expense of others, but the challenge is that many don't seems to really outgrow this stage. They go through life with a "You Owe Me" mentality. They are always at the receiving end in every relationships, always on the lookout for what to get. They present their challenges pathetically to earn cheap empathy. When they are fortunate to meet a person of influence the first they think of is how to be a financial beneficiary of such influence, and these often leads to them not having any genuine, credible relationships around their life because virtually everyone they've met have been chased away as a result of their needful lifestyle.
As a child of the Most High, we should not completely live our life at the benevolence of others, such lifestyle does not in any way reflects the true nature of Christ. We are not nomadic, we are not wanderers, we are an embodiment of infinite resources, because in Christ Jesus we have it all. Our expectations in every relationships should not be selfishly motivated, we should always look out for what to give, not what to receive. Sometimes, we will even realize that we actually have more to give to people that we think have more to give to us. Our daily watchword should be "God is my source, I have more than enough, am a blessing, not a burden to friends and family and I live in abundance"
When we go through life with this mindset, we will not just only attract people who will be willing to give a helping hand when we the need arise, but we will also be able to create and build meaningful connections around our life.
