Living With Uncertainty
Living With Uncertainty - Daniel Cole
For we do not know... Romans
8:26B
Ask any divorced or separated
couples if they knew from onset, during honeymoon, "while the love was
still young" that just few years down the line they both will be living
separately and those vows exchanged at the alter will no longer matter? Of
course, they knew not.
Ask the student who burn candles
all night trying all he could to ensure he doesn't fail those subjects, but on
getting the results he didn't meet up with the cut-off mark, if he knew that
would be the outcome? Of course not?
Ask the 15 years old orphan that
life accidentally thrust into parenthood, having to look after his siblings if
he knew that was the fate life cut out for him? Of course not.
How often have we also in the
context of affirming our certainty or uncertainty ask our partner
"Do you love me? "
One thing I know for sure is that
nothing is for sure. When life hit us with painful realities, when the
unexpected happens, how do we respond, how do we handle it?
You can only prepare for what you
see coming. We all have blind spot, there are areas in all our lives that we
don't see with perfect clarity. Nevertheless, when the unexpected happens, we
can always find solace in God’s word. Romans 8:28 says "For everything
works together for good to them who love the Lord..."
Admit what is not within your
reach to change, let go of the pains of yesterday, forgive the past and trust
God that He has a better plan for you.
